On September 25, 2024, in our weekly meeting at Manny’s, Shaligram, we had a presentation by Shree Krishna, the Program Manager of Burns Violence Survivors Nepal BVS-Nepal . The session focused on raising awareness about various forms of burn accidents and violence, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to assist affected patients.
BVS-Nepal Overview
Burns Violence Survivors-Nepal(BVS-Nepal) is a dedicated non-governmental organization established in 2008. It provides comprehensive support to survivors of burns and violence, including those affected by domestic violence and acid attacks. BVS-Nepal has successfully assisted over 8,500 burn victims through a range of services such as medical treatment, psychological counseling, nutritional support, and vocational training. The organization aims to empower survivors by helping them reintegrate into society and reclaim their lives.
During the meeting, Rtn Kumud Tripathy, the District Rotary Foundation Chair, was invited to discuss opportunities for securing a Global Grant. His insights on fundraising strategies were invaluable in supporting the rehabilitation and recovery of burn survivors. The Rotary Club’s involvement is crucial in facilitating these initiatives, showcasing their commitment to community service and social welfare.
We hope to strengthen our collaboration between BVS-Nepal and Rotary Club Of Jawalakhel Manjushree exemplifying a strong partnership dedicated to societal betterment. Both organizations are committed to addressing critical issues such as burn violence and providing essential support to those affected.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude towards Rtn Kumud Tripathy for his suggestions and all members who attended, reinforcing the collective effort towards making a positive impact in society.
This collaborative approach not only enhances awareness about burn violence but also mobilizes resources for effective rehabilitation programs that empower survivors and promote their reintegration into society.
